Make Your Own Market Bag

When: Wednesday, April 19 & 26 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm

 Outline

This course will run over two consecutive weeks and focus on basic bag knitting techniques. Homework knitting may be required. 

Students will learn to make a bag from the bottom up, first working a flat base and then making the transition to a stretchy, open weave mesh for the sides of the bag.

• Class 1: Cast on. Establish base of the bag and start the sides
• Homework: Knit the remainder of the bag
• Class 2: Shoulder strap / handles

 Prerequisites

Students must be comfortable with basic knitting stitches.

Students should have some experience knitting in the round using any method (DPNs, Flyers, 9” circular, magic loop etc.).

Needles: 3.5mm DPN, 3.5mm 16" circular, 6mm 16 or 24" circular.
